Being stuck inside with restless kids during showery weather can be a drag for all of you, especially if it is tempestuous and you want to stay away from the TV and video games. o Have an indoor campout. If your children don’t have one of those indoor tents, then make one the old-fashioned way. Throw a sheet over the top of the dining room table and use flashlights to read stories. You will have to fix S’mores in the microwave but the kids won’t mind!

o Always have art supplies on hand, including a pair of safety scissors. You can use an old tackle box as a “rainy day” art box, and only take it out when you are stuck indoors. Stock with basic art supplies, document and old magazines or catalogs that you no yearner need. Your kids can create their own works of art-or work on cards or decorations for whatever holiday is approaching.
